Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Superintendents across the state of New York gathered in Albany to discuss the challenges of running a school on a tight budget.
Binghamton School District Superintendent, Peggy Wozniak spoke at the New York State Education Department's symposium.
Wozniak talked about Binghamton's rising graduation rates, and the challenged of staying on budget.
Wozniak says when planning for a budget, it comes down to priorities. For Binghamton, that means its students.
"There are colleagues across the state that we should be reaching out to also. We're all in it together and we all have the same goals for our students," said BCSD Superintendent, Peggy Wozniak.
Wozniak plans to make use of those outside resources, saying she gained several ideas at the symposium.
She is retiring from the Binghamton City School District in January.
