Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's an event designed to help kids fight cancer and further their education.

Botnick Chevrolet teamed up with Sean's Standing Strong Memorial Fund to find the perfect car to raffle off. The two also worked together in getting the vehicle turned over to the foundation.

The fund was created by family members of Sean Shumaker, who lost his battle with cancer in January 2012.

This past weekend, Botnick raffled off Shumaker's dream car: A synergy green Camaro.

Peter Beylo was the lucky winner of the car. Beylo's wife bought him the ticket as a Birthday gift hoping he would win the car for his special day.

More than $30,000 was raised from the raffle, all to help local kids fighting for their lives.

"As we go forward, we can help more kids that really need the help and maybe that wouldn't normally get it on a national basis," said Mark Sorochinsky, of Botnick Chevrolet. "We keep the money close to home."

More than 200 people attended the event on Saturday.

Sorochinsky says Botnick is already planning for its next event to help the community.
