Raymond Corp.: WBNG Partner to Fight Texting and Driving

Greene, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Raymond Corporation used its 90th birthday celebration to promote its campaign against texting and driving.

The Eyes Forward campaign asks drivers to put their cell phones out of reach while operating their vehicles.

"You put other people in danger when you're texting and people don't realize that," said Morgan Confer, a high school student from Chenango. "You're not only endangering yourself, you're endangering people behind you, in front of you, and next to you."

Raymond Corporation is helping lead the campaign because it joins two of its principal values: family and safety.

"We are historically a family company and we think of our employees as part of an extended family," said Steve Van Nostrand, Vice President of Human Resources at Raymond. "We want to make sure that they're not only safe at work, but we want to keep them safe on the road, safe at home and certainly this program contributes to it."

WBNG is partnering with Raymond on the initiative.
