Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The eighth annual Binghamton Camper and RV Show ended Sunday on a high note. Dozens of campers were sold and attendance records were set.
According to organizers, at least half of the RVs displayed at the showcase were sold-- something that has never been done before.
"Some of these are nicer than my house, to be honest," said Kyle Mills, an organizer of the event.
The event was heavily advertised on the radio and TV, and Mills thinks this helped with outreach, leading to the biggest crowds in the history of the show.
"We had more people just yesterday [Saturday] than we did the whole weekend last year combined," said Mills. "We're looking to hit about double this year as compared to last year."
This was the first year boats camped out at the Binghamton Events Center, and organizers said that all four of the boats on display were purchased this year.
Mills is already planning for next year. He says the 2015 event will have more boats, nearly double the amount of RVs, and hopefully even bigger crowds.
