Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park stayed open late Friday night to entertain a crowd looking to get a bit spooked.
Dozens trekked through the zoo holding their breath at every corner; ghosts, goblins, witches and more were waiting to catch the visitors by surprise.
It was all part of Boo at the Zoo, a time when the Binghamton zoo transforms into a haunted trail.
Zoo staff and volunteers worked all week to set up the scary decorations and get into character. On Friday, their efforts paid off.
"People love it," Binghamton Zoo Volunteer Coordinator Melissa Grippin said. "I have already heard quite a few screams going on even though it's fairly early tonight. They seem to be having a good time."
The proceeds from the event will benefit the zoo.
The fun continues Saturday night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
