(WBNG Binghamton) Senator Charles Schumer is urging Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016.

Schumer voiced his support for Clinton at an annual democratic dinner party Saturday in Iowa.

Even though Clinton hasn't made an official announcement on whether she is running yet, Schumer endorsed her saying she will have his "unwavering support."

In a speech during the dinner, Schumer said, "2008 was the right time for Barack Obama. He successfully navigated this country through some choppy waters and will continue to do so for the next three years. But 2016 is Hillary's time. Run Hillary, run."

Schumer said that it's time for the United States to have a woman president.

He is one of a few top democrats to urge Hillary to enter the race.

Hillary told New York Magazine in September that she is debating whether to run, according to CBS News, but she didn't give any sort of time for when she could make an announcement.
