Southside gas station robbed at gunpoint

Binghamton, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) Another night, another robbery in the Greater Binghamton area. The city's southside hosted the latest incident Monday.

Binghamton police were called just before 10:30 p.m. Monday to the Mirabito, at 1178 Vestal Ave.

Dispatchers said a man armed with a gun walked into the gas station and demanded money.

The suspect is described as white, standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall and with a thin build. He was last seen wearing white sneakers, a grey shirt, grey sweatpants, orange sun glasses, a black ski mask and a winter hat.

Police said he was last seen on foot on Mitchell Avenue. A police K-9 unit was on the scene Monday evening, and police were still searching the area as of 11:20 p.m.
