(WBNG Binghamton) If you were outside on Monday, you definitely needed some sun glasses and some sunscreen. With an official high from the Greater Binghamton Airport at 79 degrees, people were running out of school and work to enjoy the sunshine.
Families fled outside to Ostinango Park and ice cream shops around the Southern Tier, like the Pysczynski family.
"We came to watch our grandson's t-ball game and if he's good he gets some ice cream," Endicott resident Karen Pysczynski said.
Families lined up outside Humdingers on Upper Front Street following evening baseball and softball games.
"It's beautiful weather, it's a beautiful day, it's nice out," Binghamton resident Nicole Cook said.
Ice cream was the perfect treat to end a day like Monday, but it would have been a little too chilly to eat the cold stuff on Sunday, when the high only reached the mid 60's with clouds and wind.
"Because it's Binghamton," Cook said.
But a Johnson City 7-year-old seems to know why it was so cold on Sunday.
"Because the sun wasn't out," Mason White said.
