Teenager Arrested for Assault and Robbery

Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A 19-year-old female is now in jail after stealing and attacking a woman with a knife in Ithaca.

According to the City of Ithaca Police Department, at approximately 6:30 Wednesday night, police responded to a robbery in progress call at the 300 block of West Seneca Street.

When the officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old woman with multiple lacerations. The victim was cut on her left hand and on the top of her head. She also said that the suspect forcefully stole her purse.

The victim was sent to Cayuga Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers found the victim's purse on the ground within a block from where the incident occurred.

A short time later, police found a person matching the description of the assailant in an alley on the same block.

Police arrested Y-nasia O. Adams, 19, of Ithaca.

She is now in Tompkins County Jail with $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
