Syracuse, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's almost back, and organizers say it's going to be better than ever. The 168th Great New York State Fair is less than a month away.

Thousands of people from all over the state, Canada and beyond will flock to the 12 day-long fair in Syracuse that will highlight the best the state has to offer in agriculture, entertainment and education.

The 'Summer's Best in Show' themed fair will have more than 25 new events and activities, the largest number of new entertainment in its history.

Troy Waffner, acting director of the New York State Fair, hopes to have more people traveling to Syracuse from the Southern Tier than ever before.

"You can come for the entertainment, you can come for the agriculture, you can come for the rides, but where else in the same day you can go walk a lama, milk a goat, pet a cow, eat a deep, deep fried spinach dip and our other signature food this year is a sausage sandwich wrapped in a bacon in a long john doughnut," Waffner said.

The fair runs from August 21 to September 1.

The 2014 Grandstand acts include: Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Pitbull, Carrie Underwood, Journey, Train, Jason Aldean and the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival featuring Godsmack.

The Fair will also feature many great free Chevy Court acts this year including Jason Derulo, Phillip Phillips, Kellie Pickler, Barenaked Ladies, Night Ranger, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, The Doobie Brothers and many others.

"All of our great entertainment throughout the fair grounds, 23 shows on the Chevy Court, eight at the grandstand. We're bringing in the Brady Bunch reunion this year which is very exciting. The comedy, the comics of Chelsea Lately so it's got a little something for everybody," Waffner said.
