Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) After months of preparation and building excitement, Tim McGraw made his much-anticipated appearance at Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
The show kicked off around 8:45, but it was already a full house at the 18th hole two hours before that.
"I can't believe all the folks," said Jay Cahill. "If you look up to the left, it's filled in, and the back, it's unbelievable."
The crowd, many adorned with cowboy boots and hats, set a record.
According to security personnel, between 20,000 and 25,000 people were in attendance.
Concert organizers planned ahead to make sure everyone could catch a glimpse of the country music star.
For the first time, the concert area was expanded into the fairways of both hole 18 and hole 9.
Extra screens were also set up throughout the crowd.
As the stars began to peek out, the crowd grew louder and louder.
"It is full of energy, people are crazy," said Stacey Clow. "It's wall to wall of people, we've been here for a couple of hours."
"Big fan, love country, and can't wait for him to come out," said Caleb Poirer.
Tim McGraw walked onto the stage around 8:45 and opened with "Where the Green Grass Grows."
The show finished around 10:30.
