Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Bartenders at The Ale House in Vestal donated their tips Thursday night to a local family friend in an effort to help their fight against breast cancer.

One bartender, Brittney, came up with the idea for the fundraiser after learning her friend Ellyn Rounds was fighting the illness.

Ellyn was diagnosed with breast cancer one day after her older sister was diagnosed.

Thursday's show of support, Ellyn said, was heartwarming.

"It makes me cry. I just appreciate it so much that people are willing to go out of their way and the help and support is incredible," said Ellyn.

The good news is Ellyn is going through her final chemo session, but all of her medical treatment has added up to nearly $200,000 in medical bills.

There will be another fundraiser for Ellyn from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday Aug. 3 at the Silver Lake Field Days grounds in Brackney, PA. There will be a variety of events, including a raffle and a silent auction.

The tips collected Thursday night from The Ale House added up to $1,812 and will all be donated to Ellyn on Aug. 3rd during the event.
