Two arrested for heroin possession following police chase

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A minor police chase in Endicott ends with two people arrested for heroin possession.

Endicott police and the New York State Community Narcotics Enforcement Team attempted to pull over Morris K. Simmons, 43, of Endicott on Cleveland Ave. on Tuesday.

Simmons fled from police in his car until it became disabled on Harrison Avenue.

Simmons then took off on foot for a short period of time until police took him into custody.

Simmons had several packets of heroin with him at the time of the arrest.

Officials searched his residence and found unpackaged heroin, 24 packets of heroin, marijuana, scales and drug paraphernalia.

They also arrested his roommate Wixie Nickerson, 31, of Endicott.

Both are accused of being involved in a heroin trafficking operation and face several counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.

Simmons also faces charges related to the police pursuit, including resisting arrest and assault in the 2nd degree.

A New York State Police Investigator was treated for minor injuries from the pursuit.

Both Simmons and Nickerson were arraigned in Town of Union Court and remanded to Broome County jail without bail.
