Two sent to hospital after crash

Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two elderly women were sent to the hospital after they ran a red light and were hit by a truck.

The crash happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of Hooper Road and Watson Boulevard in the Town of Union.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, a town truck side swiped two elderly women that drove through a red light.

The women were heading east on Watson Boulevard.

Emergency communications reported at least one of the women had to be extracted from the car.

Both women were rushed to UHS Wilson Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Deputies said tickets will be issued.
