Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A judge sentenced a woman involved in a home invasion and murder to 15 years in prison.

Ashley Carnevale, 23, was sentenced Tuesday morning in Broome County Court to 15 years in prison for charges of manslaughter and attempted assault.

She and her husband, Anthony Carnevale, were involved in a home invasion and shooting at a Windsor home in 2009. Jean Clark died and another man, Ethan Button, was seriously wounded.

Ashley Carnevale was convicted of murder in 2011, but an appeals court ordered a new trial because of problems with the police interrogation and ineffective counsel. Instead, Carnevale opted for a plea deal. In May 2013, she pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault.

In July, a judge in Broome County lowered the assault charge to attempted assault, as a result of the plea.

In addition to the 15-year prison sentence, Ashley Carnevale will serve five years of probation upon her release.

Anthony Carnevale is serving 25 years to life for murder.
