Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Super Bowl offers a unique chance to encourage children to be active.

Two Pre-K classes teamed up at the Family Enrichment Network to learn the ins and outs of the game.

The Johnson City Youth Football Program ran the training program in the gym.

Students ran to score touchdowns in the gym and dodged cones.

The students all showed up in their favorite team jersey ready to learn.

The coaches taught students about football equipment, sportsmanship and some agility training.

"One thing I've learned from in the past is that sports keeps them out of trouble and gives them something to do with their time that's productive," coach John Sodan said.

Coach Sodan says he's excited to watch the kids excel and wants to make sure they know that football and other sports are available to them.
