Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton City Council continued discussions on zoning restrictions for the Main/Court Street corridor Monday night.

They focused on land use and site development, discussing issues such as parking restrictions and loading zones in the downtown area.

The council has been working on this piece of legislation for more than a month, and they anticipate spending about another month or so discussing it before it is voted into law.

"Everyone's been working really hard to come up with ways in which to move the city forward in a positive direction," said Councilwoman Lea Webb. "And take a look at where we are, and figure out how do we keep the city moving forward, especially in the 21st century."

The city guidelines known as Blueprint Binghamton have been in the works for nearly two years.

The council will vote on this comprehensive plan for the city during Wednesday night's meeting.
