Retha, 87 years young, took her final journey after a short illness on September 10, 2012 with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Tracy and Ethel Waterman; her husband of 52 years, Ralph G. Hendrickson; and her sister, Doris W. Eagan. She is survived by her children, Barbara and Perry Williamson of Binghamton, Charles and Lolita Hendrickson of Harpursville, Mary Jane and Daniel Clune of Harpursville, and Elizabeth and Daniel Ritzman, of Binghamton; her grandchildren, Phillip and Abbey Hendrickson of Owego, Charles and Trisha Hendrickson of Windsor, Kathryn Williamson, of Johnson City, Heather Williamson of New York, Jeffery Williamson of Binghamton, Kirstie Clune of Buffalo, Patty Clune of Binghamton, and Brandon Ritzman of Binghamton; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Hendrickson, Alexis Hendrickson, Kendra Williamson, Emmett Hendrickson, and Isla Hendrickson. Retha graduated from Binghamton North High School and was retired from Lourdes Hospital where she was the first computer programmer for that organization. Retha loved to travel and read. She was also accomplished at sewing which is evident by the many quilts she made and distributed among her family. Retha's family would like to extend their gratitude to Drs. Mirza and Rahman as well as the entire staff of Memorial 3 at Binghamton General Hospital for the wonderful care they gave to both Retha and her family during this difficult time. Private funeral and burial arrangements are being made at the discretion of the family. A celebration of Retha's life will be held at a later date.
