Dorothy G. (Dot) Furman
Dorothy G. (Dot) Furman, 85, of Windsor passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 2, 2012. She was predeceased by her first husband, Maurice J. Baxter; and her son, Douglas J. Baxter. Her survivors include her husband, Earl (Jake) Furman; her daughters, Linda and Harvey Etess, Cheryl and Roger Peet, Lori and Dick Conrad, and Jill and David Bodie; her grandchildren, Kimberley and Scott Berryhill, Chad and Roseann Etess, Mark and Nicole Peet, Jodie Peet, Jim and Karena Conrad, Scott and Christy Conrad, Melissa and Jason Rusnak, and Tom Bodie; as well as her 17 great-grandchildren. Dot was a longstanding member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of Windsor where she sang in the choir. Along with singing, Dot loved painting, gardening, horseback riding, and all animals. She was also very happy in and around the water enjoying boating, fishing, swimming and waterskiing. Dot also acted in many plays at the Windsor school.
Calling hours will be held at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and again at the First United Methodist Church of Windsor, 56 Chapel St., Windsor on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. followed by a funeral service with Rev. Douglas Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Windsor.
