Phyllis Irene Gates, 91, of Port Dickinson passed away at home Thursday, October 4, 2012 with her loving husband of nearly 71 yrs, Harold, by her side. They enjoyed wintering in Florida and summering in Maine for many of their retirement years. She was "Mom" to daughters, Anita (John) Gilley of Florida, and Melanie (Daniel) St. John of Binghamton. She was "Grandma" to Jon (Harmony) Crossman, Aaron (Molly) St. John, Erika (Scott) Dzuba, and Luke (Katie) St. John. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 12 noon at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson with the Rev. Janet K. Allen, pastor of Ogden-Hillcrest United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Ogden-Hillcrest Church, 1065 Chenango St., Binghamton, NY 13901.
