Edna C. Gladd, 96, of Binghamton passed away peacefully Monday, October 8, 2012. She was very proud of her 22 years at Binghamton General Hospital where she was a LPN. She was a longtime member of Saints John and Andrew Church, member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Holy Rosary Society, the Southside Golden Agers and an avid fan of the New York Yankees. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Frank, her parents, Frank and Susan Kavetski, son-in-law, James "Muggsy" McGovern, and brother, Frank Kavetski II. Edna is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Bob Cady, Binghamton, Dawn McGovern, Johnson City, and Alice and Howard Mai, Binghamton. She leaves behind 9 treasured grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-granddaughters, sister, Frances DeLisa, Gibson, PA, sister-in-law, Theresa Hopkins, Port St. Lucie, FL, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 by the Reverend Monsignor Michael T. Meagher at Saints John and Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton. Interment will follow services in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.
