Ronald Bickham, of Owego, NY passed away on October 7, 2012 at 73 years of age. He passed away at St Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY after battling health issues for the past few months. He was surrounded by friends and family during his last days. Ron was born in Shreveport, LA but grew up mostly in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Mohawk Valley Technical Institute and then Syracuse University. He was married to Barbara Bickham for thirty-one wonderful years. Ron was an aerospace engineer for IBM in Owego, NY for over thirty years. He was an active member of the Owego Elks Club as well as an avid snowmobiler and boater at their seasonal residence at Big Moose Lake, NY. During his retirement years he became an active golfer and seasonal resident at Del Webb's Spruce Creek Country Club in Summerfield, FL. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bickham of Summerfield, FL, and their four children: son, Greg Bickham and fiancé Tammy Vangorden of Tioga, PA; daughter, Candy Walter of Hartford, CT; son, Jeff Bickham and wife Laura Bickham of Richmond, VA; and daughter, Nadine Hoag and her husband Stephen Hoag of Phoenix, NY. Ron also had eight grandchildren, Audrey and Autumn Walter, Shane and Brandy Bickham, Kaela Bickham, Sarah and Alexa Hoag and David Welch; sister-in-law, Nancy and Jerald Lockwood of Boca Raton, FL; brother-in-law, Dick and Amy Van De Mark of Buffton, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home at 15 Park Street, Owego, NY. The family will receive friends on Saturday 10am to 11:45am at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held in Summerfield, FL at a later date. Donations in Ron's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
