Irene (Kutney) Hollenshead, 81, of Binghamton passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Binghamton General Hospital. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Kutney; son, David Kutney; and grandson, David Sloma; her parents, Stephen and Mary Nesevitch; brothers, Joseph, Nick, John and Michael; sisters, Julie, Anna, Sophie, Helen and Olga. She is survived by her husband, David Hollenshead; her children, Edward and Linda Kutney, St. James City, FL, Diane and Robert Sloma, Binghamton; grandchildren, David Kutney, Jr., Kingston, PA, Steven Sloma, Binghamton, Audrey Sloma, Binghamton; stepdaughters, Karen and Scott Smith, Saranac Lake, NY, Kathy Cowher, Tyrone, PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene enjoyed traveling with her husband, plants and gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY and continue at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitney Point, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Memorial 3 at Binghamton General Hospital and Dr. Ramanujan and Dr. Liu for their compassionate care.
