William L. Edson, 89, of Endicott died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Sunday, October 28, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Guy and Helen; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Jean Smithka. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 67 years, Joyce; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Don Haus, Endicott, and Terry and Tom Joy, Waterville, NY; two grandchildren, Troy Hauck and Jim Joy; a sister, Marian Sayre, Charlotte, NC; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a retired IBM Corp employee, retiring after 37 years of service and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. Bill was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps, 49th Fighter Group, 8th Fighter Squadron and was a life member of the Major Ray H. Humphreys, DSC, VFW Post 1449, Endicott. He was also part of the Arby's (in the mall) coffee clutch for the past 28 years.
Funeral and Interment Services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Nanticoke Valley Cemetery, Endicott.
