Vincent Loren Walters

Died: November 11, 2012

Vincent Walters was born October 15, 1940 to Albert and Marie Walters of Binghamton, NY. Family members that preceded him in death were his parents; an infant daughter, Debra Rosemarie; a nephew, Michael VanWinkle, and Michael's parents, Vivian and Harold VanWinkle; his sister, Vivian. His surviving members of the family are Judith, his devoted and loving wife of 46 years (Oct. 15); his daughter, Christine (Seamus) McNally; his grandchildren, Ashley Lynn and Shane Michael McNally, all of Ouaquaga; his son, Timothy Scott Walters and fiancee, Jill Falls, and her daughters and grandchildren, West Windsor; sister, Evelyn Geertgens, Montrose, PA; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins in and out of the immediate area. Vincent worked at the Binghamton State Hospital for 30+ years and retired in 1991. He enjoyed outdoor activities, his cats, country music, and messed around with low voltage gadgets. When our electric went out, a system he invented kicked some lights on just long enough to make the neigbors do some questioning.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date by the family. Contributions can be made to Lourdes Hospice, American Cancer Society, or an animal shelter in Vince's name. We wish to thank the UHS staff, doctors, aides, Hospice, and Pastor Sue, who were so caring and treated Vincent with respect; you are all angels in our book. My love put up a courageous battle with epiglotis and esophageal cancer. He is with the Lord now and that gives us great comfort, honey. You are always my "pooh bear".
