Lyle G. Gillette, 89, of Providence St., Waverly, NY passed away peacefully at the Robert Packer Hospital on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He worked at Borg Warner in Ithaca, NY for 28 years and retired as a supervisor. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, family and friends, playing cards and games. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, of 64 years, children, Don (Cheryl) Gillette, Sandy (Tom) Taylor, Leo (Debbie) Gillette, Jerry (Chris) Gillette, Trudy Kepner (Brian); brothers, Ross (Arlene) Gillette, Gene (Kathrin) Gillette; sister-in-law, Mary Zimmer; grandchildren, Tracie (Bradley) Gray, Chelsie (Sam) Gillette, Kristie (Joel) Godec, T (Alexis) Taylor, Katie Taylor, Meghan Taylor, Keith (Lucy) Gillette, Kevin Gillette, Kathy Gillette, mother of Pat (Mandy) Gillette, and Maureen Gillette; great grandchildren, Madison, Shelby, Aubrey Taylor, Becky, and Emma Gillette; also special niece and nephew, Claude and Mary Hoyt; many many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ward and Sarah (Rose) Gillette; his son-in-law, John Kepner; his brothers, Carl (Mary) Gillette, Leon (Betty) Gillette, Hugh (Joan) Gillette, and Ivan (Alberta) Gillette; his sisters, Cora (Jim) Meckes, Ruth (Francis) Mott, and Ella (Doc) Doane; his sister-in-law, Dora (Herman) Brown, Lillis (Percy) Wood.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 19, 2012 at Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Ave., Waverly, NY. Interment will follow at the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA. Please visit to offer your condolences.
