Christine Alice (Powell) Cooper, 62, of Greene passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her father, Robert E. Powell, and by brother, Robert E. Powell, Jr. Christine is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bernie Cooper; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kathryn Cooper; son and fiancée, James A. Smith and Tammy; mother, Dorothy and John Cunningham; sister, JoAnn Powell; brother, John and Babe Powell; sister, Sandra and Lance Hendricks; sister, Joanie and Christopher Kears; many nieces and nephews. Christine was a longtime member of Zion Episcopal Church, Greene, and was active in the Altar Guild. She graduated from Sherburne High School and had fond memories of Color Guard. The family wishes to thank their many special friends who helped Christine during her time of need.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18th at Zion Episcopal Church, Greene. Arrangements under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.

Bernie and family Sorry to hear about Chris. I did not realize she had passed until now. I remember how great an outgoing personality and her compassion for helping others.

Bernie so sorry to hear of Chris passing,I am really glad we got to know her, she had such a big heart the smiles on her face when she would come over and get Haelie to visit Charlie. We will miss her she was truly a wonderful person
