Died: November 17, 2012

Larry A. Shafer, Sr., 63, of Endicott died suddenly on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Wilson Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Sr. and Ruth Shafer. He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Vicki Shafer of Endicott; daughters and son-in-law, Lori and Bill Mikulski of Johnson City, Denise Sacco of Endicott; son, Larry Shafer, Jr. of Endicott; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Rogers of Endicott, Beverly Morgan of Endicott, Joyce and Doug Welch of Arizona; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Charleen Shafer of Binghamton; grandsons, Kody and Josh, granddaughters, Brittany and Hannah, and 1 great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews. He was a co-owner and vice president of Shafer's Tour and Charter of Endicott. Larry took great pride in the accomplishment of realizing his dream of building the new facility in Endicott - it was due to his strong determination that the project was realized. He also was a stock car racer and sports fan.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main Street, Johnson City. The Rev. Mitch Mullenex will officiate. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the Barber Memorial Home. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Catholic Charities, 232 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 or the Stray Haven Humane Society, 194 Shepard Road, Waverly, NY 14892.
