Brenda A. Laraway Schenck, 50, of Hillcrest passed away at home on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey Schenck; her daughter, Cynthia Hatton Grant & her husband, Mark Grant; her son, Zachary Schenck; her daughter, Summer Schenck; her treasured grandson, Donovan Richard Grant; her brother, Robert Laraway; several relatives; her cherished dogs, Tibbie & Mork; along with her best high school girl friends. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Laraway; her mother, Nancy Laraway; and her adored cat, Joe. She loved driving school children on buses for the Chenango Valley School District, and working in the bus garage offices. She lived in Arizona for many years before returning to Binghamton. She loved the color green, going out to eat, catching a theatrical show and the opera, traveling to NYC, running, and home decorating. The family is grateful to all the support and love they received from family, friends and Lourdes Hospice.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church, River Road, with a reception to follow to honor and celebrate the life of our dearly beloved Brenda. It deeply saddens us to hear of the passing of such a loved person. Brenda will be forever missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Jeff and your family at this difficult time.

I have an empty place in my heart for the loss of a good friend. She's in much better care now and not in any pain. I know she is going to watch over everyone she cared about and I take comfort in that. Thoughts and prayers Jeff and family.
