Francis Pekera, 89, of Johnson City died on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents, Petro and Mary; brothers and sisters, Anna, Helen, Mary, Sophie, John, George, Stephen, Andrew and Paul; as well as his son-in-law, Richard Jones. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Pekera; his daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Jones, Virginia, Deborah and Anthony Krysak, Endicott, Paula Perez and Adam Lefkowitz, Florida; sisters, Pauline Fox and Susan Cayka, both of Johnson City; his grandchildren, Jason, Heather, Nikki and Martin, Daniel, Marie; three great grandchildren, Zack, Karolane and Xavier; and also several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church, the Holy Name Society and worked bingo for many years at the church. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy. Francis was also a retiree from the IBM Corp and a member of the Quarter Century Club.

Funeral Services are pending at the Barber Memorial Home and Holy Spirit Church for Thursday.
