Aurora "Margo" Perez Spak
Aurora "Margo" Perez Spak, 86, of Binghamton left this world on February 8, 2013 with her loving children by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, George Spak, Jr.; and her brothers, Joe, Nino, and Andy Perez. She is survived by her two children, G. Daryl (Denise) Spak, Apalachin, and Margo Ann (Russ) Hemedinger, Binghamton; her three grandchildren, Daryl "DJ" Spak, Jason Spak, and Laura Spak; her two sisters, Josephine Sinnickson, Swampscott, MA, and Janet Harding, Vestal; two sisters-in-law, Joanie Perez and Jo Perez; and several nieces and nephews. Aurora was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. According to them, as a mother and grandmother, she was second to none. She was involved in all her children's activities, from sports to music, and had a never ending presence at each and every function, game or presentation they had, that carried on with her grandchildren whenever possible. She met her husband at and worked for Gotham Shoe Factory, then after having her children, turned to watching other children so she could stay at home with her own. She became known as "Mommy Margo" to these children, many of which still consider her a very special part of their lives. When her children were in their teens, she returned to the work force as an office assistant for Bronsky Orthodontics, then in the credit department for Olum's. Aurora has resided at Good Shepherd Fairview Home for the past 12 years where her life remained full of good times and good friends. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff for her wonderful care: on the ACF unit where she lived for 10 years and the ALP unit where she lived for the past 2 years. During that time, you all became a part of her extended family. And lastly, to the Rehab Unit for their care, compassion and understanding in making her comfortable the last few days of her life. Aurora was a loving and giving woman with a huge heart and loving nature. She will never be forgotten and will remain forever in the hearts of all, especially her children and grandchildren.
