Margaret R. (Locke) Sharak "Mom Mom", 92, of Binghamton died peacefully Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2013 at her home after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Sharak, March 1, 2006; her parents, Lena and George Locke; a brother, Morris Brown; sisters, Helen Pysarchik and Sarah Zungali. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Gordon Gorick of Binghamton; two grandchildren, Todd Gorick of NYC, Amy and Chris Snow of Binghamton; one loving sister, Mildred Brush of Binghamton; also several nieces and nephews. She was formerly employed as the floor lady at Fair Play Caramel in Johnson City and enjoyed cooking meals for her friends and family every Thursday night, and she loved to bake and bake and bake for everyone. Mom gave from her heart and never wanted anything in return. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her special nephew, Jack Sharak; along with Dr. Scott and Analise Farrell, Dr. John and Dottie Bedosky; sister-in-law, Helen Sharak; Jennie Pietryka; and Dr. A. Kachadourian for his years of care. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, now the Church of the Holy Trinity, and its Altar Rosary Society.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Sedlock Funeral Home, Inc., 161 Clinton St., and at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing make memorial contributions in her name to the Hospice Program at Lourdes Hospital or Holy Trinity Church.
