Michael K. Sickler, 61, of Afton passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his father, Samuel H. “Sam” Sickler. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debra Sickler; his four children, Erin & Corey Smith, Bainbridge, Michael P. Sickler & his fiancée Ashley Chavez, Endicott, Scott A. Sickler, Afton, Samantha & Matthew McArthur, Newport News, VA; a grandchild, Cameron; mother, Dawn Sickler, Afton; sisters & brother-in-law, Sandra & James Lockwood, Pt. Crane, Cheryl Sickler, Afton; brother, Mark Sickler, Afton; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Genevie “Bea” & Donald Mott, Masonville; sister-in-law, Kathy Weirs, Jackson, TN; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Gary & Margery Mott, Masonville; and also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. He was a member of Nineveh Presbyterian Church, owner/operator of Afton Electric and a former member of the Afton Fire Dept. and Afton Police.
Funeral Services will be held at the Nineveh Presbyterian Church, 2997 Rte. 7 on Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Emrys Tyler, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, 69-71 Maple Street, Harpursville on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to service. We are so sorry to hear the passing of Mike. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends at this sad time. He was such a fantastic electricion and friend to many people. He will be missed by many.

What a great person, supportive of his family, friends and community. I enjoyed the time I spent with Mike and his family during my AYSO days.
