Lottie Gruzleski

Lottie Gruzleski, 96, formerly of Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Luke's Lutheran Community, Akron, OH. She was born Ludmila (Lottie) Svarny November 1, 1916 in Binghamton, NY. Her parents were Paul and Anna Svarny and she was the youngest of four children. Married September 11, 1940, she was predeceased by her husband, Floyd T. Gruzleski, and her three brothers, John, Paul, and Martin. She is survived by her son, Thomas and daughter-in-law, Nancy (Wychules) Gruzleski; grandchildren, Jason T. Gruzleski (and wife Adina), Audra Trillana (and husband Emmanuel), Laura LaRiviere (and husband Michael); great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jonah, and Daphne Trillana, Amanda and David LaRiviere; and many nieces and nephews, including locally, Joyce Hujar, Louise Marhefka and Robert Svarny. Lottie lived most of her life in Binghamton and Johnson City, NY and was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School. She worked for over 30 years as an accounting manager at Wilson Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church of Binghamton.

Funeral and Committal Services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. The Rev. John R. Martinichio will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, February 15, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 255 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633 in Lottie Gruzleski's memory.
