Linda D. (Eldred) DeSantis, 62, of Castle Creek passed away unexpectedly on March 8, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Buellah Eldred, and sister, Marleta Roma. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, David DeSantis; daughter, Kimberly DeSantis; mother-in-law, Marian DeSantis; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Robin DeSantis, and Edward and Renee DeSantis; cousins, Richard Osterhout of Austin, TX, JoAnn Rowland of Coatesville, PA, and Betty Jennings of Hallstead, PA; brother-in-law, Frank Roma; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces, cousins; and her faithful companion, Maggie. Linda loved to volunteer at Catholic Charities Food Pantry. She was active in her Book Club and was a member of the Chenango Bridge Methodist Church. She loved traveling abroad with her mother and family, loved baking, cooking and especially her flowers. Linda always looked forward to and enjoyed getting together with her close friends and past co-workers. Linda worked as a registered nurse at Lourdes, Binghamton General and Wilson Hospitals for 15 years. She then worked as the school nurse at Chenango Forks Middle School for 21 years until her retirement. Linda always looked forward to seeing the students and enjoyed chaperoning school trips and the ski club for several years.

A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton. Pastor Roger L. Frederick will officiate. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Catholic Charities Food Pantry of Binghamton.
