Elaine J. (Sanzo) Lange

Died: August 4, 2013

Elaine J. (Sanzo) Lange, 84, passed away at home after a brief illness on Sunday morning, August 4, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She eagerly joins her husband, Herb, who predeceased her in 1996 after 45 blissful years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her brother, Anthony (Tony) Sanzo. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Lange of Binghamton, and granddaughters, Lennay Chapman of New York City, and Heather (Mike) Wiese of Cortland; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cherie Lange of Binghamton, and grandsons, Ryan Lange and Taylor Lange of Binghamton; sisters, Delores (Jerry) Maslin of Vestal, Phyllis Riesterer of Endicott, and Joyce Sanzo of Endicott; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mom's first priority was caring for her family and making a warm and welcoming home in which we shared many memories. To fill the empty nest, mom became a beautician and worked at the Executive Spa as well as for the family business, Sanzo Specialties. She enjoyed playing golf with Dad and in several leagues with her friends, serving as League President for a year. She also enjoyed years of bowling and playing cards with her good friends. Mom greeted everyone with a warm smile. She talked to everyone, loved animals and had a soft heart for anyone who needed help. Mom had a "spunkiness" that defined her and a strength that carried her through the years without Dad. We will always remember her funny quotes, her fairness and loving generosity.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the J.F.
