Richard D. Tokos

Died: September 14, 2013

Our beloved dad, Richard D. Tokos, passed away at the age of eighty-six, surrounded by his children on September 14, 2013. He was born in Johnson City, NY on April 8, 1927 to his late parents, Edna (Mosher) Tokos and John Tokos. Richard was predeceased by wife, Mable Ann Tokos, in 1977, and brother, Ronald, in 2013. He is survived by five loving children, Dixie (Duane Shefler), John (LuAnn), Randy (Mary), Tim (Tracy), and Ruth (Gary Todd). He had many grandchildren, Ann, Dawn, Nicole, Jonathon, Misty, Autumn, Angela, Cody, Kasey, Barbara, Michael, Michael Tino, David, Kristy, Brittany, Leah, James and Mikkala, and nine great grandchildren. He leaves behind his devoted and much loved life partner of nearly thirty years, Blanche Heath, and also sister, Caroline Florence. Richard served in the National Guard and was a talented maintenance man for over fifty years and could find a way to fix anything. He enjoyed a full life consisting of camping, hunting, and road trips with Blanche for coffee and donuts at Dunkin' Donuts and visiting his children. He had a love for guns, country and western movies, and enjoyed decorating for Halloween. We will miss him and his good night phone calls dearly. He will be missed and thought of daily by his loving family.

At dad's request, he will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Floral Park Cemetery on Tuesday, September 17th at one o'clock in the afternoon. We love you with all our hearts, Dad. Memorial donations may be made to the Danielle House in Richard's memory. Arrangements are with the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc.
