Seldon S. Carey, 79, of New Milford, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, October 5, 2013. He was born on July 29, 1934 in Lenox Twp., PA to the late Alton B. and Eunice F. (Jerauld) Carey. His wife of 51 years, Shirley A. (Conklin) Carey, and sister, Belva Tiffany, predeceased Seldon. He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Stuart and Carole Carey, New Milford, PA, Dwight and Arlene Carey, Harford, PA, Kenneth and Wendy Carey, New Milford, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and David Richner, Windsor, NY; brother, Rupert Carey, Harford, PA; three sisters, Norma Carey, Harford, PA, Katherine Mansfield, Gibson, PA, Lynola Carey, Harford, PA; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Seldon was, first and foremost, a shining example of the family man. He was a model husband, father, grandfather, and member of his community. His nickname was "Doc", doctor of fixing anything and everything. His hard work, loving and caring nature was his legacy to his family. Seldon made his time your time; he was always there for his family, ball games, home projects, and his advice. His heart of gold will be a hole in the family's heart that will be hard to fill.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Thomas of the South New Milford Baptist Church officiating. Visitations will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
