James B. O'Shea

James B. O'Shea, 73, passed away peacefully at home on December 17, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth O'Shea; his mother and father-in-law, Ann and Nick Macuch; his brother, Michael O'Shea; and his sister-in-law, Deborah O'Shea. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce O'Shea; his stepchildren, Deborah Kish, Karen and Steve Stelmak, James and Stephanie Blodgett, Richard and Florence Blodgett, and Kathleen and Dennis Tweedie; his grandchildren, Andrea and Matthew Merritt, Nick Blodgett, Kathryn and Ryan Cachilli, Andrew Olds, Julia Stelmak, Emily Kish, Zachary Strom, Ryan Strom, and Rachel Blodgett; his great grandchildren, Alexis Merritt, Abigail Merritt, and Elizabeth Cachilli; and his brother, John O'Shea. James and his father founded O'Shea Auto Parts in 1967 and operated the business until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement, he restored antique pedal tractors in his basement for many years. He was also an antique car enthusiast having once won a national award at the Hershey, PA Car Show for his 1909 Ford Model-T. James' family wishes to thank the oncology nurses at Wilson Hospital and the staff of Lourdes Hospice for the care given to him during his illness.

The family will receive friends at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with Deacon Dale Crostley from Our Lady of Sorrows Church to conduct a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory may be made to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850.
