Caroline Elizabeth Thompson

Died: March 18, 2014

Caroline Elizabeth Thompson, "Gramma TT", age 105, received her angel wings on March 18, 2014. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Charles Schmidt; brothers, Leonard, Halsey and Elmer; sister, Minnie Bowen; daughter, Thelma Wood (Dick); daughter-in-law, Beatrice Thompson; and grandson, Ricky Swartz. Five children survive her, Raymond Thompson (Owego, NY), Carol Bailey (Harpursville, NY), Shirley (Richard) Swartz (Endwell, NY), Joseph (Jennien) Thompson (Johnson City, NY), Arthur Thompson (Albany, NY); 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Our Gramma TT was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was the one who held everyone together and took great pride in her loving family. She lived a very simple Christian life and was known for her unconditional love, giving nature, and her perpetual smile. She lived in her house for over seventy years where she nurtured many. She also loved bowling, bingo, crocheting, knitting, and especially rooting for her favorite sports teams (Mets, Syracuse, Michigan). She was a lifelong member at First Presbyterian Church of Endicott where she dedicated herself to helping others. She taught Sunday school, Bible studies, and led many prayer circles. She inspired many and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank those who cared for her every day, especially the staff at Ideal Nursing Home, for the wonderful care they gave her to create a home away from home.

Visitation will be at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Main Street, Endicott, NY on Friday from 4:00-7:00. A memorial service will be Saturday at 10:00 followed by a graveside service at Riverhurst Cemetery, Main Street, Endwell. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to the memorial fund at the First Presbyterian Church of Endicott, 29 Grant Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had your mother/grandmother as on of my residents at ideal senior living center. She was a beautiful person.
