Wilma Jane Emilio

On June 3, 2014, the heart of our family, and our rock, Wilma Jane Emilio, 88, of Binghamton, passed into the arms of her Lord at home, surrounded by loving family. She is survived by her family which she so deeply cherished: her children, Lucretia Yeomans, Yvonne Newell, Daniel J. (Donna) Emilio III, Constance (John) McVicker, Domenico (Bonnie) Emilio III, Cheryl (Dennis) Gill States, Carla (Kraig) Brigham, Joseph Emilio and Michelle (Daniel) O'Donnell; grandchildren, Corinne, Tara-Danae, Joel, Christopher, Benjamin, Alexander, Daniel, Anthony, Andrea, Michelle, Bree, Kayla, Destiny, Joni Lee, Courtney, Luke, Michael, Lucretia, Domenico IV, Robert, Jenna, Shannon, Carly, Kraig, Danielle, Victoria, Jake, Joseph II, Dylan and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Jack, Deacon, Kainen, Salvatore, Liam, James, John, Victoria, David, Domenico V, Carmella, Noah, Hunter, Gill, Lily, Katheryn, Hudson, Cadence and Aila; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel J. Emilio II; her daughter, Deborah Felker; sister, Mildred Bird Taylor; brothers, James and William Bird; and sons-in-law, Bob Gill and J. Terry Yeomans. Wilma possessed a magical smile and an ability to make everyone laugh and feel special. Although of Welsh ancestry, she was one of the best Italian cooks you could find. She will be remembered for her courage and her selfless character. Family was the center of her life and she remained true and loyal to her husband, her knight in shining armor, during their marriage and for the thirty years since his death. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren arise and call her blessed (Proverbs 31:28).

We can never be separated
From those we love
Because God leaves us
With memories to hold
And love that doesn't pass away,
And in time, we realize
That our loved ones live on
Not only in Heaven,
But within our hearts
