Isaac Nicholas Keyes, 13, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Wilson Hospital. He was the beloved son of Kris M. Keyes and Louise A. Tiemann and brother to Walter Keyes, all of Vestal. He is survived by his paternal grandparents, John and Carmelita Keyes of Vestal; his maternal grandparents, Karl and Theresa Tiemann of Owego; also numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, aunts, uncles and cousins. Isaac was a vibrant young man who loved life and was a joy to be around. He was a seventh grade student at the Vestal Middle School, where he enjoyed playing his silver trumpet in the band. After school, he was involved in the Math Counts math club and Odyssey of the Mind. During the summers, he loved going to the B-Mets games, swimming at the town pool, and camping. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 16, where his fellow students and their parents may pay their respects from 4-6 p.m., followed by an open viewing until 8 p.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton. Light a candle of hope in remembrance of Isaac and share your memories in his guest book at www.chopyak-scheider.com. In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York in his memory.

Our hearts go out to the family. Such a tragedy! Be strong! Know that Isaac is in your heart. I just saw him the other day and said to myself, wow he is really growing up. I will always remember him having a smile on his face. He will be missed.
