Jacob Tyler Bensley, 9, of Berkshire, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2009, surrounded by his family. Jake is survived by his parents, Jason and Charity Bensley; brother, Jessup; sister, Jeanette; maternal grandparents, Wendy and Rodney Adams, Thomas and Toni Kennedy; paternal grandparents, Debbie and David Hildebrandt, Mitchell and Bonnie Bensley; great-grandparents, Burt and Helen Scott, Ida May, Thomas and Margaret Kennedy, David and Dorothy English; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jake attended Newark Valley Elementary School. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, energetic spirit and great smile. Jake loved the outdoors, hunting, riding his ATV, playing sports and cheering for the N.Y. Giants. He was dearly loved by his family and will be fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Newark Valley United Methodist Church, 61 Main Street, Newark Valley with the Rev. Nancy Adams, Officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego. Memorial contributions may be made in Jacob T. Benlsey’s memory to the Hunter’s Hope Foundation, P.O. Box 643, Orchard Park, NY 14127.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Jake last year and thought he was wonderful. There are so many great things to say about him and Everyone will miss him very much.
