Harold Snyder, 81, Owego passed away on Sunday Morning, November 15, 2009. Mr. Snyder was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Florence Snyder; one brother, Lawrence Snyder.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Snyder; son, Laverne Snyder; two brothers, Richard “Dick” and Donna Snyder; Raymond and Jean Snyder; several nieces and nephews. Harold was the salutatorian of the Owego Free Academy Class of 1945. He was a member of the Owego United Methodist Church for 57 years. Harold was a well known contractor with Snyder Construction. He enjoyed working with his brothers and was dedicated to his family and work. He was a member of FLAC and the Soaring Twirlers Dance Club.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Rev. Alan Jagger, officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery. Shirley requests instead of calling hours, please send her a card sharing stories of the improvements Harold has made to your home. In Lieu of flowers, Shirley requests that you take some time to thank the Emergency Squad Volunteers, or do a good deed for a handicap person & STOP SMOKING.
