As an example of just how good the play was at this year's Dick's Sporting Goods Open, check out Joey Sindelar's scorecards
He shot 3 rounds in the 60's capped off by 4 under par 68 on sunday.
And he finished 10 shots behind the winner, Lonnie Nielsen.
The scoring record was smashed by 4 shots as Nielsen was 21 under par through 3 rounds.
And plenty of people got to enjoy the birdie binge. Tournament director John Karedes says this was the best attendance they've had in 3 years, and a reminder of the days of the BC Open.
" Talking to players today on the first and 10th tees they said this is how it used to be in the old days. Not just with the old BC open but with Greensboro and Hartford and Boston where the community would just embrace the event had come out in masses to watch them play and they really enjoyed it. They felt the energy and the excitement and they were grateful for what our community has to offer."
Karedes is already hard at work for next year.
Several players, including hall of famer Nick Price said they can't wait to be back next season.
