Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

Freshman Dylan Talley scored a game- and season-high 25 points and junior Mahamoud Jabbi added 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Binghamton (12-17, 7-7 AE) over visiting UMBC (3-25, 2-13 AE) 81-61 in an America East men's basketball game Sunday in front of 4,717 at the Events Center. The win snapped a four-game losing skid and strengthened the team's hold on fifth place in the conference standings with two regular-season games remaining.

Binghamton scored the game's first eight points and led 25-12 halfway through the opening period. Jabbi netted 14 of his season-high 20 points in the first half, when the Bearcats shot 53% and staked themselves to a 46-29 halftime bulge.

Jabbi hit 8-of-11 from the floor and pulled down five offensive rebounds to set the single-season record in that category (83). It was Jabbi's fourth double-double of the season.

Talley then took over in the second half, scoring 16 of his 25 points to keep BU's lead at 15 or more throughout.

"Today the fans really lifted us," interim head coach Mark Macon said. "We played with a lot of energy and the guys played as a team. We got the ball up the floor and right into our offense. We needed to play well today and not just win the game and we did."

The Bearcats owned a 43-25 rebound advantage and six different players made a three-pointer, including Talley's 3-for-4 performance. Talley hit 11-of-16 from the field and added five assists and four rebounds.

Leading scorer Greer Wright traded his scoring production for assists and wound up with seven points, seven helpers, four rebounds and two steals.

Junior forward Moussa Camara added 10 points - the ninth straight game he's reached double figures.
