The area is a bit of a hockey town, which is a good thing.
Because starting next year, there will be another pro team in town.

The Federal Hockey League will open business in Broome County next season.
That announcement will officially come next week.

The team will play it's games at the Chenango Ice Center, and the season will run at the same time as the Binghamton Senators American Hockey League schedule.

The Federal Hockey League touts itself as "class "A" hockey, and the league's mission statement is to " provide quality family entertainment at affordable prices in some of the most exciting new hockey markets in North America. "

The Binghamton franchise will be the 5th in the league, which debuts next season.
