He joked today the only citations he's used to getting are for parking violations.
But today Binghamton University distance runner Eric van Ingen received citations from city, county and state lawmakers after becoming the school's 7th division 1 all american.

Van Ingen was honored in a ceremony on campus this afternoon, where he helped unveil the poster that will honor his accomplishment inside the events center.
The Marathon high school standout finished 5th in the mile at the indoor track and field meet to earn all american status, after coming very close in previous seasons.

" I was one spot last year in indoor and 3 spots in cross country, so, this was just, before this year 'almost' was a word I'd use to describe my career. It was getting to the point where it was very frustrating even though I knew what I was capable of."

Van Ingen has a season of outdoor track left at BU and he made his goals very clear. He's out to win a national championship in the upcoming season.
