The playoffs are pretty complicated on the high school football front.
In particular in division 5.
4 teams that appear in the state rankings are all in that division.
And this week #4 Forks is coming off an emotion double-overtime win over rival Chenango Valley as they prepare for 20th ranked Sidney.

Forks coach Dave Hogan says, " It's just, these are the cards that we're dealt and we're going to have to do it. It's just the way it is. It's going to be tough, we know that. It's a short week and we're confident. We have confidence in our kids. We'll have them ready."
As for the Sidney Warriors, they are fresh off a sloppy win against fellow division rival Greene.
Sloppy only because of the field conditions of the home turf.
But the team knows they will need to be ready for an even tougher game this week.

Coach Jeff Matthews says, " That we play a home game is definitely an advantage to play on this field But both teams have to do it, so I think the advantage is kind of out the window and the best team wins that night."

Nate McDonald says, " Forks is a good team, they're a strong team and they beat Greene too, so we have to get ready all week and bring it to them, but I think we have a good chance. Their running game, they can hit it up the gut and they're strong. They do what we do but we just have to come harder next week and we have to show them."

Sidney is scheduled to host Forks Friday night at 7:00.
If Forks wins they'll have a pretty strong hold on the division, but a Sidney win would make things interesting over the final few weeks.
