Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton Senators faced off against the Albany Devils Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena. After losing the last three straight games, the B-Sens rallied five goals to beat the Devils 5-3, boosting their home record to 24-8-1-3.
Binghamton took a 1-0 lead late in the first as a wide open Cole Schneider put the puck away at 17:45.
David Dziurzynski struck early in the second after tipping one in at the 1:08 mark. Albany would the cut lead in half as Steve Zalewski earned his 11th goal of the year at 4:44 of the period. The Devils would then tie the game at two after Chris McKelvie scored on a shorthanded breakaway at 13:53. Binghamton reclaimed the lead as Stone flipped one over Albany goaltender Jeff Frazee at 16:14 to give the B-Sens a 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.
At the middle of the final frame Schneider would cash in again for Binghamton, scoring on the power play at the 10:55 mark. The B-Sens kept the momentum going as Corey Cowick earned his 14th goal of the year at 12:21. Albany closed out the night with one more as Eric Gelinas set the Devils goal total at three.
Nathan Lawson started in goal for Binghamton and earned his 11th win of the season after making 27 saves on 30 shots. Frazee earned the start for Albany turning aside 34 of 39.
The B-Sens see action again tomorrow as they travel to Albany for a rematch against the Devils. Game time is 5 p.m.
